Prayer of St. Teresa of Calcutta

I extend special thanks to parishioners who offered their sympathy, support and prayers for me and my family at the recent death of my sister, Eleanor Glynn. Whether you attended her funeral, sent sympathy / Mass cards or expressed personally your condolences, know that we very much appreciate your kindness to us at this difficult time. Our faith in Jesus’ triumph over death and our hope of eternal life are special gifts that we come to appreciate all the more at a time like this. Recently I came across a prayer of St. Teresa of Calcutta (provided below), which seems to dovetail nicely with the new vision statement our parish pastoral plan writing team has proposed:

Holy Family strives to be a joyful, welcoming community of faith that encounters Jesus, and thinks with His mind and loves with His heart. I invite you to come to the special parish gathering we’ll have this Sunday evening at 6:00 pm in the Msgr. Glynn Parish Center to hear the results of parishioner feedback from a survey taken a few months ago, and offer further input on the vison statement and proposed goals for the future. Our time together will include a simple supper to enjoy as we share our thoughts with fellow parishioners. I hope you can attend!

Prayer of St. Teresa of Calcutta

Flood my soul with Your spirit and love. Penetrate and possess my whole being so utterly that all my life may only be a radiance of Yours. Shine through me and be so in me that every soul I come in contact with may feel Your presence in my soul. Let them look up and see no longer me but only Jesus.

God bless you!

Fr. Bob
