Happy Easter! Welcome, have no worries! We've reinforced our church roof before Easter knowing that some people may feel it would cave in when they walked through the doors.
Today, we celebrate that Jesus is alive! Jesus, who is God, became a human being, was unfairly put to death, rose from the dead, and assures us that we who die believing in Him can also share a new life after death.
Something I have found to be confirming of this belief is hearing about near-death experiences. Just Google the term and you'll come up with hundreds. One I'd recommend is from orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Mary Neal. There are so many commonalities among peoples' near-death experiences that it causes me to wonder: Is this what it's like in heaven? I'd say it's only a glimpse. But, the thing is, we don't have to wait until the "end," to experience the presence and power of the risen Jesus. He is with us now in the power of His Holy Spirit! Ponder these words of Pope Francis and let them settle into your mind and heart: "Jesus Christ loves you; he gave his life to save you; and now he is living at your side every day to enlighten, strengthen and free you." (Evangelii Gaudium - The Joy of the Gospel #164) Jesus accompanies you on your journey through life. He desires to have a personal relationship with you! Wherever you are on the road, Holy Family parish community is here to help you deepen your relationship with Jesus. Let's walk together letting Jesus be our companion and experience the difference it makes! God Bless! -Fr. Bob
