Matt Bensman has been on staff with us here at Holy Family Parish since August 2018 when he began serving as our Youth Faith Formation Minister / Social Media Coordinator. Later, in January 2024, he began serving as our Director of Family Faith Formation. Over the course of time since then, he has discerned that he needs to spend more time caring for his young family including his special needs son, Theo.
This has led him to make the difficult decision that continuing in a full time position here at Holy Family is no longer possible. To provide a gradual transition for Matt and allow him to finish out the faith formation year, last month he has begun working part-time. He will complete his ministry with us at the end of April. In the various roles Matt has served our parish, he has made a significant impact on our young people and families. Please pray for Matt, his wife KellyAnn and children, Graham, Caroline and Theo, that God will bless them in this time of transition. We’ll have an opportunity to thank him for his special ministry among us and wish him well closer to the time of his departure.
On a personal note, I want to thank the many parishioners who have kept me in their prayers recently as I addressed my health concerns. With two visits to MGH in November and another one the week before last, I’m hoping there won’t be any further need for hospitalizations for the foreseeable future. I truly appreciate the many kindnesses and expressions of support provided to me during this time. As of this writing, I am feeling well and am on the road to recovery.
